Athens Virtual Academy of Indiana (AVA) welcomes you and your family as you embark on a virtual learning journey. We are delighted to have your student(s) join the AVA and are eager to partner with you to foster a dynamic and enriching educational experience.

Virtual Learning Environment:
We have created a robust virtual learning environment at AVA, combining innovative technology and a student-centered approach. Our dedicated team of educators is committed to providing a high-quality education, ensuring that each student reaches their full potential.

Your Role as a Parent/Guardian:
As a valued member of the AVA community, your involvement and support are crucial to the success of your student's virtual learning experience. Here are a few ways to contribute:

  • Communication:
    Stay informed about your student's progress by regularly checking communication channels, such as emails, announcements, and the virtual learning platform.

  • Engagement:
    Encourage your student to participate actively in their respective virtual classes. Your support in creating a positive and motivating learning environment at home is invaluable.

  • Technology Support:
    Ensure that your student has the necessary technology and internet access for virtual classes and familiarize yourself with the virtual learning platform. A loaner Chromebook will be issued, free of charge, if needed.

  • Attendance:
    Help your student adhere to our attendance policy. Regular attendance and engagement contribute significantly to academic success.

Orientation Session:
We will host a virtual orientation session to help you and your student(s) acclimate to AVA. This session will cover important information about the virtual learning platform, support services, and key policies. Details regarding the orientation will be shared with you shortly.

Open Lines of Communication:
The AVA believes in maintaining open lines of communication between the school and parents/guardians. Reaching out for help is a sign of strength. Please do not hesitate to ask for support when needed—we're here for you.
